On monday september 18, 2023, the Head of State His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, accompanied by the First Lady Her Excellency Angeline Ndayishimiye, arrived at New York to take part in the work of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly planned on september 18 to 26, 2023. Bringing together 173 member countries, the United Nations General Assembly meets in regular Sessions from september to december at New York and at other times as needed to analyze the specific issues that lead to the adoption of resolutions.
